La Salle University 2025 Move-In Day Activities - August 21
Philadelphia, PA (08/19/2025) — La Salle University will welcome more than 700 new, first-year students and their families for move-in and the new student convocation on Thursday Aug. 21, 2025.
President Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D., will be on hand at 9:30 a.m. as students in the largest class since 2018 undertake the annual tradition of moving into campus housing. With an increase of 300 new and returning students this year, La Salle has reopened and renovated two residence halls.
Beginning at 3:45 p.m., the first-year students will participate in the symbolic First Expedition Walk from Hayman Hall on main campus to the John E. Glaser Arena. The procession through campus into new student welcome convocation includes the Philadelphia 76ers Official Drumline, student orientation leaders, the La Salle Spirit Dance Team, faculty, and President Allen.
La Salle received 1,700 more applications for the 2025-26 academic year, a 40% increase from the prior year and the most since 2010.
The first day of classes is Monday, Aug. 25.
New Student Move-In Media Availability
WHEN: Thursday, Aug. 21, from 9:30-11 a.m. for Move In
WHERE: St. Basil Court residence hall (Enter campus using the driveway off Lindley Avenue, located between Ogontz and Belfield Avenues. Multiple parking lots are available to accommodate visitors.)

First Expedition Walk and New Student Welcome Convocation
WHEN: Thursday, Aug. 21, from 3:45-4:45 p.m.
WHERE: A procession of new students led by President Allen, the 76ers drumline, student orientation leaders, and the La Salle Spirit Dance Team will begin at Hayman Hall and end inside the John E. Glaser Arena.
