La Salle University welcomes its largest incoming class in 2025 since before the pandemic

Philadelphia, PA (09/04/2025) — La Salle University is experiencing strong momentum this fall with record-setting enrollment growth, expanded academic opportunities, vibrant campus life, and historic philanthropic support.

The University welcomed nearly 700 new first-time, full-time students this fall, representing a 40% increase over last year. La Salle also enrolled 150 new transfer students, an increase of nearly 60% from the prior year. In total, approximately 900 new undergraduates are joining La Salle this fall - 300 more than in 2024 - making this the largest entering class since before the pandemic.

"La Salle's mission is to provide a transformative education that is both accessible and personal. We have been very intentional in our focus on the student experience and their success," La Salle President Daniel J. Allen, Ph.D., said. "The record growth we are experiencing shows that students and families recognize the value of a La Salle education. They are choosing a university where they will be challenged academically, supported individually, and prepared to lead lives of purpose and impact."

Enrollment Highlights

  • La Salle received 1,700 more applications than the prior year-the most since 2010.
  • The University saw a 40% increase in deposits and lowered its acceptance rate by nearly five percentage points.
  • Nearly 300 more students will live on campus this fall, supported by the reopening and renovation of two residence halls.

Academic Expansion
La Salle continues to invest in in-demand programs that prepare students for the workforce of tomorrow. In spring 2025, the University launched the Miguel Campos School, offering two additional associate degree pathways in business administration and health studies, underscoring La Salle's commitment to accessible, high-quality education.

Building on its strengths in nursing, business, and accounting, La Salle also added new degree programs including:

  • Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity
  • Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence
  • Bachelor of Arts in Aviation (in partnership with Lewis University in Chicago)
  • Bachelor of Science in Sport Management (launched in 2024)

Athletics and Campus Life
Four new teams - women's acrobatics and tumbling, women's rugby, women's triathlon, and baseball - begin competition this academic year. The on field teams join the boosting of the schools spirit squads in cheer, dance, and band, to enhance student life and school spirit.

Philanthropy and Recognition
Alumni and friends have contributed nearly $53 million over the past four years, including a record-setting $1.9 million during the 12th annual Day of Giving in spring 2025. With $16.8 million raised in fiscal year 2025, it marked one of La Salle's strongest fundraising years in history.

La Salle was also named by the Carnegie Foundation as one of just 500 "Opportunity Colleges and Universities - Higher Access, Higher Earnings" institutions nationwide, further recognizing its mission-driven impact.
